Abstract:		 Limited rescue investigations at a suspected Mesolithic site at Beedle's Quarry, during the destruction of the site by gravel extraction, failed to locate stratified Mesolithic horizons, but flint artefacts indicated the presence of some Mesolithic activity in the area. Later prehistoric and Romano British occupation of the site was attested by flint and pottery finds, and an aerial photograph revealed cropmark enclosures.
