Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	Area excavation on a river terrace in advance of road development investigated aspects of an Iron Age settlement including an enclosure, a circular structure and a burial central to a rectangular structure. The morphology of the site, the position of the burial and examples of the intentional deposition of selected artefacts is evidence of ritual activity within a domestic framework. The pottery from the site is almost exclusively Iron Age, and interpretation of a radiocarbon programme has dated the site to c. 450-350 BC. A flint assemblage indicates terrace exploitation from at least the late. Neolithic period and possibly flint use in the 1st millennium BC.
