In the next chapter, the Trust's community archaeologists respectively report on their work in `Boston' by Jim Bonnor (17-19), `North Kesteven' by Nicola Nuttall (19-21), `South Kesteven' by Ruth Waller (21-2). Jim Bonnor (23) also evaluates the success of `The Metal Detecting Liaison Group', and a bronze Saxon girdle hanger discovered at Sleaford is illustrated. A chapter on research archaeology discusses progress with The Fenland Management Project and presents the following results of fieldwork: excavation of Neolithic/Bronze Age sites at `Dogdyke, Pinchbeck and Deeping St James', by Tom Lane (24-9), `Excavation of a section of the Bourne-Morton canal in Morton fen', by Dale Trimble (29-30), `Gosberton and the Saxons: breaking new ground', by Tom Lane (30-2), and `Excavation of a Roman Saltern in Morton Fen' by Dale Trimble (32-3). The concluding chapter summarises commercial archaeology projects and includes longer contributions on the following: `Baston Hall farm' Saxon and medieval settlement (34-6) by Michael Jarvis; `Conning Street, Horncastle' (36-7), `Salterford, Salter's Way' (38), and `Salterford, treatment plant' (39), all by Gary Taylor; and `Hangman's Lane, Stainfield' by Mark Dymond (39-41).
