Abstract: |
A comprehensive guide to archaeological organisations and resources in Britain. A short `Preface' by Peter Addyman (iv) is followed by an `Introduction' by Michael Heyworth (1). Richard Morris (2--6) then gives a concise history of archaeological organisation in Britain, concentrating on the role of the Council for British Archaeology, in `British archaeology: fifty years on'. The reference sections cover: archaeology in education from schools through universities, to career development and professional accreditation; national, local, and international organisations and museums; `Internet resources for archaeologists' (by Sara Champion (250--60)); forthcoming events in 1995--96; and a guide to sources of funding for archaeology. |
