Abstract:
[SE 6052]. Booklet illustrating some of the most important discoveries made during recent restoration work. Much of the plan of Archbishop Thomas' Norman church is now traceable; he re-used much Roman and other building material, some of it sculptured or inscribed. Late Saxon graveslabs are figured and the tentative plan of the Roman headquarters building shown. Although the Roman alignment was followed by the Late Saxon cemetery, and by many streets still in use, the Norman Minster lies diagonally across this pattern.
