Abstract: |
Since few excavation teams can include a trained conservator, this booklet aims to help archaeologists store their finds "in such a condition that there is something for the conservator to conserve when the objects do finally reach him". It neither recommends nor explains "do-it-yourself" conservation techniques but provides information on suitable storage containers and on chemicals to ensure temporary protection. A list of conservators for emergency consultation is given. |
