Abstract: |
The 20km stretch between Popham and Compton contains eighty-one sites in a 300m-wide corridor. Another twenty-six sites may be expected to turn up during construction works. The area, mostly chalkland, was clearly densely settled from EIA onwards, and nineteen sites relate to the period before that. Costs of the necessary field unit are presented for the period 1973-9. |
