Abstract: |
The core of the work is a reassessment of the Dinas Powys evidence in the light of 20 years' research and reorientation of objectives relevant to the Celtic West and its military relations with the Saxons. The first two parts deal with Dinas Powys and its finds, with a new look at the economic evidence; Part 3 deals with forts in Wales and Dumnonia AD 450-750 (including catalogue of sites - 13 - and material on Cadbury-Camelot previously published); Part 4 reprints material on warfare between Britons and Anglo-Saxons; and Part 5 is a synthesis on economy, society, and warfare slightly revised from its 1971 original. |
