Abstract: |
The remains of an articulated burial were recorded during a watching brief, undertaken during the excavation of a foundation trench to the north of a church. The legs and feet of the skeleton were complete, but the upper half was missing, perhaps removed during the excavation of foundations for the adjacent boilerhouse. Substantial stone wall foundations were also revealed. The stonework almost aligned with a blocked door believed to be of Norman date, within the wall of the chapel, but the exact relationship was uncertain. [AIP] |
