Abstract: |
In accordance with a local planning authority condition, the groundworks for the construction of a 300m length of farm track was observed. Topsoil stripping revealed a number of irregular subsoil features but most were considered to be tree holes. Only one other likely archaeological feature was seen, almost certainly modern in date. No stray finds from the topsoil stripping were seen. It was concluded that although it was possible that smaller archaeological features may have been removed without record, larger features would have been readily visible had they been present.
