Abstract: |
The archaeological watching brief provided new information relating to the location of the medieval manor house, its character and something of its history. Despite episodes of demolition, the manors' lower stratigraphy and plan at foundation level had survived very well. The present manor farm buildings appeared to be founded upon the platform of demolition created around the turn of the 18th century and, with the exception of the cellars, had probably not greatly affected the survival of earlier remains.
