Abstract: |
The desk-based assessment indicated that the site had an uncertain but probably high potential to contain archaeology dating to the prehistoric and Roman periods, based on a number of finds in the vicinity of the site and the site's topographic and geological location. The site also had a high potential to contain the footings of a building constructed between 1760 and 1832, which was probably demolished in the 1860s. The nature of the development was not known at the time of writing. Consequently it had not been possible to carry out a detailed discussion of the impact of any development on archaeology that may be present, although the report discussed the possible archaeological implications of ground disturbance on the site.
