Abstract: |
Three 10m by 3m trial trenches were excavated across the site as an evaluation prior to its proposed residential development. In the northern part of the site Boyn Hill gravel was overlain by mixed gravel and silt deposits, possibly derived from a stream known to have crossed the site, the Falcon Brook. Trenches were also heavily truncated by pits of mid-late 20th century date and it was assumed that most of this activity was associated with the use of the site as a motor works from the 1920s onwards.
