Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during groundworks associated with new flood defences on the River Trent at Willington. The work revealed a sequence of undated alluvial deposits overlying natural sands and gravels. The alluvial deposits comprised flood episodes and infilling of a former channel of the Trent. Finds were only retrieved from the topsoil layers and comprised 19th-20th century pottery and a single burnt stone. [Au(adp)] |
