Abstract: |
Two evaluation trenches were excavated on the site. The earliest deposit was the natural alluvium, which represented an ancient ground surface, from which flints, interpreted as the remnants of a possibly Bronze Age flint scatter, were recovered. This was overlain by 18/19th century topsoil and a post-1861 building. A possible depression left by an extinct course of the Falcon Brook was observed, in-filled with 19th century dumping.
