Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of the Hatton to Silk Willoughby Gas Pipeline as it passed through the Car Dyke Scheduled Ancient Monument, a waterway. Scheduled Ancient Monument Consent required that, following earlier geophysical, fieldwalking and field reconnaisance surveys, a watching brief be undertaken during the topsoil stripping operations and the excavation of the thrust and reception pits either side of the monument. No further archaeological remains were recovered during these operations. [Au(adp)] |
