Abstract: |
The geophysical survey provided evidence for many archaeological and historical features. The resistance data appeared to correlate with known structures indicated on the 1840 Tithe Map, although the detail was different. Within the central part of the main survey area there was evidence for probable structures associated with the previous Manor House, with the exact location of the building open to doubt, which was suggested as having been located beneath the extant bandstand. The magnetic data corroborated this information, with additional data on the presence of ferrous material such as services. Little was discovered relating to the suspected moated earthwork.
