Abstract: |
The assessment established a number of archaeological records indicating the potential for Roman and medieval remains on the site. The site was historically cultivated as orchards during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Any surviving sub-surface deposits or features within the site which pre-dated this cultivation would have been subject to root damage. A further ten entries for finds/sites of archaeological significance lay within 0.5km of the site. The most significant of these was an undisclosed number of Roman burials and medieval and post-medieval remains associated with Grench Manor.[Au(abr)] |
