Abstract: |
<summary>Proposed extension to York Minster Library led to an archaeological evaluation by Northern Archaeological Associates. Three trial-trenches were excavated. Two of the trenches contained evidence only of post-medieval dump deposits associated with the use of the area as a garden. The third trench contained evidence of late medieval/early post-medieval structures and associated deposits, possibly part of subsidiary buildings associated with the archbishop's palace which stood on the site until the early 17th century. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
