Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken of the laying of a pipeline in the area to the east and south-east of the recognised major prehistoric settlement at Queen Mary's Hospital. The pipeline, approximately 1000m long north-south, provided an opportunity to assess prehistoric settlement in the area. Finds were retrieved from the entire length of the pipeline, but a specific concentration of pottery and fire-cracked flint was recognised immediately to the east of the prehistoric settlement.
