Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during ground reduction and the excavation of piling pits at a development site. Medieval human remains had been found at the site during the construction of a Victorian basement, and a previous evaluation had revealed dump deposits and the bases of cut features. During the watching brief, a medieval foundation was observed which may have been part of a cellared building or a cess pit. The remains of the Victorian basement and of a possible vaulted sewer were noted. [AIP] |
