Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during topsoil stripping prior to sand and gravel extraction at a site where a previous watching brief phase had recorded a worked flint flake, a sherd of Middle Bronze Age pottery, and a linear feature which was thought to have been associated with an extant field boundary. During the second phase, no archaeological features or deposits were observed, although six flint flakes, a sherd of Romano-British pottery and fragments of burnt flint were recovered. It was concluded that the flints provided further evidence of prehistoric activity in the vicinity. [AIP] |
