Abstract: |
The results of the evaluation demonstrated good survival of the foundations of steps belonging to the "Great Garden" of the medieval Abbey. Trench 3 displayed no survival of evidence related to the paths of the garden. Evidence for the "Great Garden" and earlier, monastic features and deposits, recovered during the evaluation demonstrated the potential not only for survival but also of further archaeological remains being extant below present ground level.
