Abstract: |
The assessment determined that the site had a low archaeological potential for all past periods of human activity except for the Roman. The study site may have been located close by the junction of two major Roman roads serving the Wealdon iron industry. Past archaeological investigations to the west and the south of the study site have retrieved Roman finds (pottery, glass and slag) of probable 1st and 2nd century date.[Au(abr)] |
