Abstract: |
The work comprised the machine excavation of five trenches totalling 73.5m in length. No archaeological features predating the later post-medieval period were present and only a single sherd of medieval pottery was recovered. At the west end of the site part of a building depicted on a 1778-78 map was uncovered, as were other buildings and associated features that were constructed in the later 19th century. In the eastern part of the site two phases of later post-medieval field boundaries were also exposed. [Au(abr)] |
