Abstract: |
A magnetic susceptibility was carried out over 20.8 ha in advance of a proposed development. It showed that the site had moderate levels of magnetic enhancement with some localized areas of higher enhancement. A detailed magnetometry survey targeted over two areas of high enhancement was successful in locating a number of anomalies. There was evidence for a relict field pattern and agricultural activity that was likely to relate to former ridge and furrow systems. Discrete low magnitude positive anomalies and faint linear and curvilinear positive anomalies may have related to cut features with an archaeological origin. [Au(adp)] |
