Abstract: |
A watching brief monitored the excavation of a pipe trench for a new water main. The route of the pipe trench ran through or close to several areas of archaeological interest, including at least two known sites where artefacts had been recorded in past archaeological investigations. Few features of interest were recorded along the route, and although a number of ceramic fragments were recovered these proved to be relatively modern. At one location on the route of the pipeline, prehistoric heat-affected flints and fragments of wood were recorded. [Au] |
