Abstract: |
The evaluation identified the standing building as a former cowshed of 18th/19th century date, further extending in use as garages during the 20th century. Test pits beside the walls revealed that they did not continue significantly below the existing ground surface and were not found to be sitting on any contemporary footing. On that basis they were considered to represent the slightest remains of walls that once formed part of the inner bailey wall. [Au(adp)] |
