Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks for the installation of an access ramp within a 16th century quadrangle. A series of burials relating to the 12th century Priory Church had been discovered within the Quad in 1972. During the watching brief, late medieval pottery and tile and fragments of bone, including the upper part of a human humerus, were recovered. It was concluded that the layer containing artefacts probably represented part of a levelling layer imported at the time of the Quad's construction. [AIP] |
