Abstract: |
A desk top assessment of the proposed site of a residential development was undertaken. Two areas of undated cropmarks lay in the vicinity, and a Late Iron Age settlement had been excavated. 13th-14th century pottery and a medieval moat had been recorded in the area, and several late medieval listed buildings lay nearby. A brick and tile works had occupied the site since the 1930s-1940s. Remaining buildings associated with this were to be recorded prior to demolition. It was recommended that further archaeological investigation should also take place. [AIP] |
