Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site within an Archaeological Priority Zone was undertaken. Prehistoric artefacts, predominantly of neolithic and bronze age date, had been found in the vicinity, and possible iron age features had been excavated. Possible Roman settlement had been identified at two sites. The area was part of an early medieval manor; in later medieval times, it was part of a deer park. It was concluded that an evaluation shoud be carried out. [AIP] |
