Abstract: |
<summary>An assessment of Edgwarebury Park was carried out which involved a resistivity survey, inspection, and a documentary study. It was found that ancient field boundaries, banks and established hedgerows were present on the site. Documentary and archaeological evidence was found which related to human settlement and activity in the vicinity of the park over several thousand years. It was recommended that the existing landscape features be preserved {italon}in situ{italoff}, and that the depth of machine-ripping prior to tree-planting be minimised. It was also noted that if damage were to prove unavoidable, an archaeological evaluation or a watching brief would be necessary. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
