Abstract: |
A watching brief during groundworks for the installation of a drain around the church revealed evidence for the church which was known to have existed prior to the rebuilding of 1419-20. Excavation around the brick apse, which was built in 1760, was too shallow to reveal the medieval chancel, although documentary sources established its former dimensions. [Au] |
