Abstract: |
The investigations represented one of the most important archaeological projects to have been undertaken in Plymouth in recent years. Confirmation of the construction and subsequent extension of a quay during the 14th and 15th-centuries has extended the known eastern limit of medieval Plymouth. The ceramic assemblage too was of significance since the majority of finds were relatively early, dating from the mid-13th-15th centuries. A quantity of post-medieval imports were also retrieved. Additionally, a number of well preserved medieval ship or boat timbers were recovered from the harbour silts.[Au(abr)] |
