Abstract: |
<summary>It was felt by the archaeologist that the observation of test-pits was unsuitable in the assessment of archaeological survival. A medieval or post-medieval wall was seen, along with much demolition debris, suggesting that medieval or post-medieval buildings had previously stood on the site. Truncation of archaeological deposits by modern floors, basements, etc was a factor on the site, and disturbance seemed greatest on the Marylebone High Street frontage. It was recommended that further, proper archaeological trial work be carried out prior to the commencement of groundworks. {italon}AIP{italoff}{spacea} |
