Abstract: |
The proposed extraction area was shown to contain no known sites of archaeological interest, although two aerial photographs indicated crop-mark features. Two worked flints of Neolithic/Bronze Age date were recovered from a brief walkover of the site and may have been indicative of more extensive prehistoric remains. Timber structures of possible Roman/Anglo-Saxon date had previously been found in river silts 450m east of the site, their presence was noted. [Au(adp)] |
