Abstract: |
The evaluation consisted of nineteen trenches. Prehistoric activity in the form of several pits was examined. One of these pits contained a sherd of prehistoric pottery and several 'pot boilers' and another worked flint, possibly of Neolithic date. A few sherds of Romano-British pottery were recovered although no features of this date were identified. Several ditches, some of which were undated, were also observed. However, most of these were probably associated with medieval ridge and furrow ploughing. [Au] |
