Abstract:
An evaluation funded by the Jubilee Line Extension Project was carried out. Fragments of human bone and sherds of Saxon and medieval pottery were recovered. A medieval wall was recorded which may have been part of an abbey. Almost 500 sherds of post-medieval pottery of a single fabric were noted, and 18th-20th century features were recorded. Recommendations were made for further work in several of the evaluation trenches. [AIP]
