Abstract: |
Desk-based assessment identified that proposed opencast mining would affect five areas of archaeological potential. These comprised the cropmarks of a possible trackway; earthworks representing the remains of possible hearths; earthworks of 18th-century field boundaries; two findspots of metalworking slag; and a stone wall and gateway.
