Abstract: |
The evaluation showed that probable gravel extraction had been carried out within the site. This certainly dated from the 19th/20th century, and possibly from as early as the 17th century. It was likely that this would have destroyed any archaeological remains in the area of the workings. No archaeological features were observed in areas not affected by quarrying. No artefacts earlier in date than the 17th century were recovered. [Au(abr)] |
