Abstract: |
The study site was thought to have a low archaeological potential for the earlier prehistoric, Bronze Age, Saxon and medieval periods of human activity. The study site's archaeological potential for the Iron Age was thought to have been high. However, the evidence compiled in the report suggested that an Iron Age settlement to the west did not extend as far east as the study site. Observation of the excavation of several geotechnical test pits also suggested that any archaeological remains may have been removed by previous development in the late 19th or early 20th century.
