Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief within the yard to the north of the former stables examined a low curved platform built against one of the surrounding boundary walls. This was a single phase of construction utilising rubble and worked stones. The structure located at the rear of the former stable was once an open compound. The Rock Arch, located at the north-east corner of the upper lake, and the rockwork cascade located between the upper and middle lakes was also investigated, along with the stone bridge at the junction of the middle and lower lakes.
