Abstract: |
Known Archaeology Area 5/6 was situated to the east of Bullerthorpe Lane and involved the excavation of three trenches. These were positioned over linear anomalies identified from geophysical surveys and aerial photographs, including a possible double-ditched trackway aligned north/south. Further features recognised included an east/west aligned inear feature, thought to represent part of a rectilinear enclosure; a large existing field boundary with a flanking farm track, a north/south ditch and a number of smaller features. A small assemblage of Romano-British pottery was discovered, along with various, undated, features which were associated with the cropmarks and magnetic anomalies. [Au(adp)] |
