Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at a site where a medieval Surrey Whiteware pottery kiln had been excavated in the 1960s. A large pit was identified which was probably a stoking or rake-out pit associated with the kiln. Numerous sherds of medieval pottery were recovered from this and from post-medieval gravel pits. Post-medieval artefacts and a prehistoric flint blade were also found. It was concluded that further excavation should be undertaken. [AIP] |
