Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during groundworks for a new rock armour groyne, constructed in order to reduce cliff erosion. Four Romano-British salt manufacturing sites had been recorded in the vicinity of the site, including one which could potentially have been affected by the works. An Iron Age coin and remnants of wooden piles associated with Roman pottery had also been found nearby. During the watching brief, no archaeological features or artefacts were observed. [AIP] |
