Abstract: |
The evaluation and watching brief established that the site was one of national significance containing remains of Hadrian's Wall at a depth of 0.47m beneath present ground level in Trench 1. Any proposed development would have to adapt itself to the fabric of Hadrian's Wall, for which there was a presumption in favour of preservation in situ. [Au(abr)] |
