Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed no deposits or features of archaeological interest. Peat deposits underneath alluvium were recorded in both trenches. No dating evidence was recovered in association with these deposits. Although peat deposits recorded in the vicinity were generally believed to be of Neolithic and/or Bronze Age date, the peat in trench 2 sealed a deposit of alluvial clay and therefore may have been a relatively recent formation.
