Abstract: |
The fragmentary remains of the town wall running across the southern end of Hastings Old Town were surveyed. Parts were Scheduled as an Ancient Monument, and Hastings Borough Council commissioned a survey and associated historical research prior to application to English Heritage for an extension of the scheduled area relating to the remains, in order to afford them greater protection. In areas there were no above ground remains and elsewhere fragmentary remains had been incorporated into later structures. [AIP] |
