Abstract: |
Salvage recording was undertaken following an evaluation of the site which had identified significant medieval deposits within the development area. The building footprint was designed to avoid the deposits which comprised the line and backfills of the medieval town ditch to the east, and to the west, medieval occupation debris. No medieval deposits were positively identified within the construction trenches. A number of unmortared stone wall lines, areas of fill and pits were present. These were believed to relate to a row of tenements dating from the early eighteenth century. [Au(abr)] |
