Abstract: |
<summary>The investigation of the Hallgate site resulted in the detailed recording of a continuous sequence of structures and associated occupation deposits, dating back to the late 14th century. This included the partial ground plan of a 14th-15th century town house of timber-frame construction, succeeded by a series of smaller late medieval and post-medieval cellared tenements. Between the two occupied plots some form of small-scale industrial activity appears to have taken place. The early 19th century saw the demolition of the earlier structures and reconstruction over the whole area. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
